U.S. Wine Sales Unchanged in April
U.S. wine sales, both domestic and bulk imports, were unchanged from a year earlier at $2.9 billion in April, market research firm bw166 reported. Weaker table wine sales cancelled a $3 million gain by sparkling wine and a $5 million increase by imported bulk wines. Both table and sparkling wines strengthened in the latest 12 months as domestic wine sales rose 1% while packaged imports rose 6% to $21 billion. Wine sales in the U.S. increased 3% in the period to total $63 billion.
