Dutcher Crossing promotes Briggs to winemaker

Healdsburg, Calif.—Dutcher Crossing Winery, located in the Dry Creek AVA, announced Nick Briggs has been promoted to winemaker. Briggs, who apprenticed since 2012 under founding winemaker Kerry Damskey, will continue to consult with Damskey and owner Debra Mathy. In his new role, Briggs will oversee all winemaking operations along with newly appointed assistant winemaker, Cass Gossage. “This is a great opportunity to elevate our unique and stylistic approach to creating premium, small-lot wines,” Nick Briggs said in the press release announcing his promotion. “It’s an exciting time to be at Dutcher Crossing and I’m eager to continue working with Kerry and Cass as we take our wines to the next level.”
