Ste. Michelle opening new visitor center

Woodinville, Wash.—Chateau Ste. Michelle, Washington state’s largest wine company, announced its new visitor center would open this Labor Day weekend. The visitor center, designed by the architecture firm BCRA Seattle and built by Wilcox Construction Inc. of Edmonds, Wash., represents a $7 million-dollar investment honoring the winery’s 50th anniversary.

The new center is double the size of the previous tasting room, totaling 22,731 square feet, and features an interactive blending room, four private tasting salons, a modern 80-seat theater and a restaurant style kitchen. "The opening of the new visitor center represents the next chapter in Chateau Ste. Michelle's growth and will dramatically enhance our ability to offer world-class wine experiences for decades to come," said Ted Baseler, president and CEO of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, in the press release announcing the new tasting room.
